Día de los Muertos is a holiday celebrated in Mexico where families honor their loved ones with a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration. Stop by the library to take a look at the altars honoring those who have passed away, along with a screening of “Coco.” The movie will be showing in Spanish with English subtitles.

The Working Artist Forum is excited to be part of the 2022 Waterfowl Festival this November 10th-13th. Original art works completed in various media can be viewed and purchased on Friday & Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday 11-4. This year’s exhibit will be held at Christ Church Fellowship Hall, 111 S. Harrison St., Easton, and will be part of the ticketed Thursday VIP Premier Night 5-8pm where patrons can also meet the artists.

Tidewater Inn Brew & Oyster Brawl

The 10th annual Tidewater Inn Brew & Oyster Brawl scheduled on Saturday, November 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Brew and Oyster Brawl will feature live music by one of the Eastern Shore’s favorite bands since 1973, Bird Dog and the Road Kings, and an Eastern Shore inspired menu with oysters prepared every which way. Additionally, an open beer and wine bar will offer regional, craft, domestic and imported brews, along with a selection of wines, to pair with savory dishes. With a purchase of a $100 ticket, guests will receive a commemorative pint glass and enjoy a one-of-a-kind event that reflects the famed heritage and cultural fabric of the Chesapeake Bay region. A portion of ticket sales will go to ShoreRivers. ShoreRivers protects and restores Eastern Shore waterways through science-based advocacy, restoration and education.

Joy on Fire

Featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered and in a Tiny Desk Concert, Joy On Fire is a New Jersey-based sax/bass/drum/vocal rock-jazz quartet that originally formed in Baltimore. The band has toured the eastern seaboard, from Vermont to New Orleans, and played repeat engagements at venues and festivals such as The Burlington Jazz Fest, The Middle East Café in Boston, Baltimore’s Metro Gallery, and The Asheville Music Hall.

Fall Memorial Horse Show

Positive Strides will host the Jaime Lee Hutchison Memorial Horse Show on Saturday, November 19, 2022, starting at 9:00 a.m. at Timber Grove Farm, 6292 Statum Road in Preston, Maryland.   Riders will compete in an equitation class and trail class. A recognition ceremony will be held late morning to early afternoon. The public is invited to attend and support our riders at no charge. Donations are appreciated. Food will be available for purchase on site. The series is held in loving memory of Jaime Lee Hutchison who tragically lost her battle with cancer in 2017. She was a long-time therapeutic rider at Timber Grove Farm, home of Positive Strides.

Noa Baum’s: How the Birds Became Friends

Talbot County Free Library, in partnership with Carpe Diem Arts presents the Tell Me More! Stories from Hill and Dale: A storytelling series for children and families. Free and open to the public. All ages welcome and no registration required. The Washington Post praises Noa Baum as someone who "spreads cultural truths that eclipse geopolitical boundaries..." An award-winning internationally acclaimed storyteller and published author. Noa will share her delightful adaptation of a Burmese folktale titled “How the Birds Became Friends” about the power of kindness to change the world. Signed copies of Noa’s book, illustrated by renowned ecologist and artist Zev Labinger, will be available for purchase after the performance.
