Jaime Lee Hutchison Memorial Horse Show

Timber Grove Farm 6292 Statum Road, Preston

Positive Strides will host the Jaime Lee Hutchison Memorial Horse Show on Saturday, June 11, 2022, starting at 9:00 a.m. at Timber Grove Farm. Riders will compete in an equitation class and jumping class. A recognition ceremony will be held late morning to early afternoon. The public is invited to attend and support our riders at no charge. Donations are appreciated. Food will be available for purchase on site.   The series is held in loving memory of Jaime Lee Hutchison who tragically lost her battle with cancer in 2017. She was a long-time therapeutic rider at Timber Grove Farm, home of Positive Strides.

Chesapeake Children’s Book Festival

Talbot County Free Library 100 W Dover St, Easton

The 7th annual Chesapeake Children’s Book Festival (CCBF) will take place on Saturday, June 11 from 10am to 2pm at the Talbot County Free Library Easton Branch.   The theme this year is Oceans of Possibility! Author Carole Boston Weatherford will be delivering a keynote speech at 10:30 am and Author/illustrator Bryan Collier and will be delivering a second keynote speech at 11:30 am. The Easton High School Jazz Band will be performing. Thanks to lead sponsor Flying Cloud Booksellers, a Bluepoint Hospitality property, children ages 18 and under who sign up for the library’s Summer Reading Challenge will receive a voucher valued at $20 for a free book of their choice from Flying Cloud Booksellers while supplies last. The YMCA will also be providing a summer reading program prize of a six-month family membership for Easton YMCA along with swimming lessons.   Other authors attending CCBF include David Owen Bell, Melanie Conklin, Nancy Viau, Diane Salerni, Ginger Park, Frances Park, Joan Waites, Michael Rex, Lee Harper, and Chesapeake Children’s Book Festival Co-Founder Timothy Young.
