EEDC Update & Save the Date from Tracy Ward

As of October 1st, 2020, the Mayor gave the Easton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) administrative control over taxpayer dollars funding economic development activities in the Town of Easton.  The economic development activities include making essential contributions to ensure the successful implementation of favorite community events. These include Moonlight Madness/Christmas in Easton, The Christmas Parade, First Night Talbot, the St. Patrick’s Day parade, the Easter Egg Hunt, and more.

Beyond the familiar events, other economic development activities are also funded. These include staff time to support large-scale redevelopment projects such as Easton Point and Port Street, marketing for business relocation, and expansion to secure Easton’s role as a regional employment center with a diversified economy.  The EEDC is committed to supporting these programs while maintaining a transparent process that has been informed by stakeholder engagement.

We could not think of a better person to help lead the charge in the area of our downtown economic activities than Jeff Lankford. An Easton resident with over a decade of working in the hospitality industry, Jeff also has direct experience with downtown merchants and the Town of Easton through his work at the Easton Business Alliance.  In addition to coordinating our downtown engagement activities, Jeff will provide staff support to the Town’s Maryland Main Street and Easton’s Arts and Entertainment District programs.  When you see Jeff around downtown, be sure to give him a warm welcome in his new role!

Hold the Date!  On Thursday, November 19th, we will host a ZOOM meeting from 8:30- 9:00 am to introduce you to your economic development team and provide you with an overview of the planning process that we will undertake to establish our recommendations for 2021.

Please email  to be notified of the meeting details.
