Tour de Talbot

Tour de Talbot was founded in 2020 as the “Tour de Quarantine” as a way for cyclists to get out of the confines of home during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. This event supports the Maryland Food Bank and those affected by the pandemic. Riders will leave from the Easton Firehall location on Leonard Rieck Drive in Easton and will enjoy one of three distances to experience the beauty and charm of Talbot County. The ride will be followed by food, beverages and the Thrive Expo - a free community event showcasing healthy businesses and organizations from throughout the Eastern Shore!

Jaime Lee Hutchison Memorial Horse Show

Positive Strides will host the Jaime Lee Hutchison Memorial Horse Show on Saturday, June 11, 2022, starting at 9:00 a.m. at Timber Grove Farm. Riders will compete in an equitation class and jumping class. A recognition ceremony will be held late morning to early afternoon. The public is invited to attend and support our riders at no charge. Donations are appreciated. Food will be available for purchase on site.   The series is held in loving memory of Jaime Lee Hutchison who tragically lost her battle with cancer in 2017. She was a long-time therapeutic rider at Timber Grove Farm, home of Positive Strides.

Chesapeake Children’s Book Festival

The 7th annual Chesapeake Children’s Book Festival (CCBF) will take place on Saturday, June 11 from 10am to 2pm at the Talbot County Free Library Easton Branch.   The theme this year is Oceans of Possibility! Author Carole Boston Weatherford will be delivering a keynote speech at 10:30 am and Author/illustrator Bryan Collier and will be delivering a second keynote speech at 11:30 am. The Easton High School Jazz Band will be performing. Thanks to lead sponsor Flying Cloud Booksellers, a Bluepoint Hospitality property, children ages 18 and under who sign up for the library’s Summer Reading Challenge will receive a voucher valued at $20 for a free book of their choice from Flying Cloud Booksellers while supplies last. The YMCA will also be providing a summer reading program prize of a six-month family membership for Easton YMCA along with swimming lessons.   Other authors attending CCBF include David Owen Bell, Melanie Conklin, Nancy Viau, Diane Salerni, Ginger Park, Frances Park, Joan Waites, Michael Rex, Lee Harper, and Chesapeake Children’s Book Festival Co-Founder Timothy Young.

Outdoor Summer Concert Series: Swamp Donkey

Swamp Donkey prides themselves on a big sound that you will likely not hear anywhere else!   Stretching the “grass” concept to the limit and offering a unique sound in the process, the Annapolis/Baltimore-based electric newgrass band delivers an exciting combination of original songs and unique covers that span many genres in a style they have made all their own.  The band takes an intense and creative approach to their live performance that is riddled with surprises, mesh-ups, and lots of energy! Fans are sure to experience a “swamped-up” version of something that will keep them stomping their feet.   You can find Swamp Donkey performing on Harrison Street between Dover and Goldsborough Streets. 

Easton Carnival – Presented by The Avalon Foundation

Each year the Avalon Foundation brings Shaw's Amusements Carnival to the Town of Easton as part of its July 4th celebration! The celebration offers nine days to enjoy the carnival and culminates on the 4th of July with food, free fireworks and live music. The carnival is open from 6 to 10 p.m. daily and  from 4 to 11 p.m. Thursday, July 4.  The carnival is beside Waterside Village Shopping Center near Target, between the Easton Parkway and St. Michaels Road. $5 off wristband coupons available Avalon Theatre Lobby. Wristbands are available every night, with the exception of July 4th!
