    Marc-André Hamelin – The Art of Impossible

    Pianist Marc-André Hamelin is known worldwide for his unrivaled blend of consummate musicianship and brilliant technique in the great works of the established repertoire, as well as for his intrepid exploration of the rarities of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. He regularly performs around the globe with the leading orchestras and conductors of our time, and gives recitals at major concert venues and festivals worldwide.   Mr. Hamelin has composed music throughout his career, with nearly 30 compositions to his name. The majority of those works—including the Etudes and Toccata on L’homme armé, commissioned by the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition—are published by Edition Peters. His other most recent work, Suite à l’ancienne, was premiered in February 2021 by pianist Rachel Naomi Kudo with funding from her Gilmore Young Artist Award.

    Anthony Kearns – An Irish Christmas

    Anthony Kearns, considered Ireland’s Foremost Tenor, is recognized around the globe for over a decade of extraordinary collaborative work with the PBS super-group, The Irish Tenors, with whom he still tours annually.  Their CDs have gone Gold, Platinum, and Double Platinum.  The Irish Tenors are in the top 3 highest-grossing clients for PBS, bringing in a whopping $10 million over the course of their lengthy collaboration.   Kearns is a classically trained tenor with the incredible ability to flawlessly sing what audiences love to hear.   He is the consummate performer with universal appeal.  Anthony establishes immediate rapport with his audiences, dazzling them with a re-birth of music they have loved for years.

    First Night Talbot

    The holiday season ends with First Night Talbot on December 31st from 6 p.m. to midnight and will be a family-friendly event highlighting the arts. The New Year’s Eve Celebration continues to be the only First Night celebration in the State of Maryland. The event will return to in-person programming this year and end with the iconic Crab Drop at midnight (or 9 p.m. for the early birds). For more information click here!

    Paquito d’Rivera – Improvise!

    Paquito D’Rivera defies categorization. The winner of fourteen Grammy Awards, he is celebrated both for his artistry in Latin jazz and his achievements as a classical composer.   Born in Havana, Cuba, he performed at age 10 with the National Theater Orchestra, studied at the Havana Conservatory of Music and, at 17, became a featured soloist with the Cuban National Symphony. As a founding member of the Orquesta Cubana de Musica Moderna, he directed that group for two years, while at the same time playing both the clarinet and saxophone with the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. He eventually went on to premier several works by notable Cuban composers with the same orchestra.

    As The Washington Post lauded, Venezuelan-American pianist Vanessa Perez "is not to be taken lightly.” Praised for her bold, passionate performing style allied with musicianship of keen sensitivity, she made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2004.   With her recordings and many concerts, Perez has developed a significant international profile, playing some of the most prestigious venues across the U.S., Latin America and Europe. The pianist has performed with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Gustav Meier, James Judd, Ligia Amadio, David Gimenez Carreras, Carlos Izcaray, Diego Matheuz, John Axelrod, Eduardo Marturet, and Carlos Miguel Prieto.
