Featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered and in a Tiny Desk Concert, Joy On Fire is a New Jersey-based sax/bass/drum/vocal rock-jazz quartet that originally formed in Baltimore. The band has toured the eastern seaboard, from Vermont to New Orleans, and played repeat engagements at venues and festivals such as The Burlington Jazz Fest, The Middle East Café in Boston, Baltimore’s Metro Gallery, and The Asheville Music Hall.

Positive Strides will host the Jaime Lee Hutchison Memorial Horse Show on Saturday, November 19, 2022, starting at 9:00 a.m. at Timber Grove Farm, 6292 Statum Road in Preston, Maryland.   Riders will compete in an equitation class and trail class. A recognition ceremony will be held late morning to early afternoon. The public is invited to attend and support our riders at no charge. Donations are appreciated. Food will be available for purchase on site. The series is held in loving memory of Jaime Lee Hutchison who tragically lost her battle with cancer in 2017. She was a long-time therapeutic rider at Timber Grove Farm, home of Positive Strides.

Talbot County Free Library, in partnership with Carpe Diem Arts presents the Tell Me More! Stories from Hill and Dale: A storytelling series for children and families. Free and open to the public. All ages welcome and no registration required. The Washington Post praises Noa Baum as someone who "spreads cultural truths that eclipse geopolitical boundaries..." An award-winning internationally acclaimed storyteller and published author. Noa will share her delightful adaptation of a Burmese folktale titled “How the Birds Became Friends” about the power of kindness to change the world. Signed copies of Noa’s book, illustrated by renowned ecologist and artist Zev Labinger, will be available for purchase after the performance.

From Baltimore to Central Texas, Arty Hill packs the bars and dance floors with his unique brand of modern Honky Tonk. Hill’s songs—marrying the soul of classic country with the wry storytelling of Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt—have been recorded by the Grammy-nominated Kenny and Amanda Smith Band, Alt-Country pioneers Jason & the Scorchers, Rockabilly Queen Bee Marti Brom, and Austin’s Texas Sapphires, among others. Hill’s recordings have topped the FAR (Freeform American Roots) chart, and his current top-notch band, the Long Gone Daddys, include: Tim Pruitt - lead guitar, Lynn Kasdorf - pedal steel, Johnny Castle - bass, Steve Raskin - drums.

Internationally acclaimed soprano Larisa Martínez is widely regarded as one of the most exciting talents of her generation. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she has been highly praised for her warm lyric coloratura voice and captivating stage presence.   For the last three years, Ms. Martínez has toured with tenor Andrea Bocelli, debuting at Madison Square Garden, Hollywood Bowl and throughout North America, South America, and Europe. She also has a long history of collaborations with violinist Joshua Bell, including two PBS specials and an upcoming “Voice and the Violin” concert tour. In 2016, she won the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Audition in Puerto Rico, as well as the Angel Ramos Foundation Award and the Audience Prize. Soon after, she was invited by the Metropolitan Opera Guild 2018 Annual Gala as a guest artist to honor Anna Netrebko.

With a career spanning almost four decades, GRAMMY® Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell is one of the most celebrated artists of his era. Having performed with virtually every major orchestra in the world, Bell continues to maintain engagements as soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, conductor and Music Director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.   Bell has also appeared three times as a guest star on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and made numerous appearances on the Amazon series Mozart in the Jungle. Bell is featured on six Live From Lincoln Center specials, as well as a PBS Great Performances episode, “Joshua Bell: West Side Story in Central Park.” In 2018-19, Bell commemorated the 20th anniversary of The Red Violin (1998), bringing the film with live orchestra to various festivals and the New York Philharmonic.

The Talbot County Women's Club is pleased to announce its Second Annual Outdoor Life-Sized Candy Land Adventure fundraiser including carnival games, holiday crafts for kids, raffles, and historic tours on Saturday November 26th and Sunday November 27th at the Talbot County Women's Club!   The classic board game, Candy Land, will be brought to life in downtown Easton offering all ages a chance to navigate thru a life-size, fun-filled journey playing games in magical areas such as the lollypop woods, peppermint forest, and gumdrop mountain. Travel past the gingerbread house and meet Queen Frostine. Participants gather winning tickets to turn in for special prizes. The fun continues inside the Women’s Club with holiday crafts for kids, raffles, and historic holiday tours, and more.  

The annual Christmas Festival of Trees raises funds for Friends of Hospice to carry out its mission to benefit Talbot Hospice. Since 1985, Friends of Hospice has donated over 3 million dollars to benefit terminally ill people living in Talbot County. Beautifully decorated Christmas trees with the Theme “A Winter Wonderland” will be displayed in historic downtown Easton’s Tidewater Inn and are either sponsored or are for sale over Thanksgiving Weekend from November 26th - 29th. The Festival will also include a fun outside holiday event on Saturday evening called “Carols by Candlelight.”

What does it take for a bluegrass band to remain popular for over five decades? For The Seldom Scene, it's taken not only an evolving roster of talented musicians, a signature sound, and a solid repertoire, but also a sheer sense of fun. Established in 1971 in a basement in Bethesda, Maryland, the Seldom Scene has gone on to become one of the most popular progressive bluegrass bands around. With their inventive take on bluegrass, which includes versions of country music, rock, and pop, they have displayed both their original material and their interpretations of songs from limitless genres. Long live the Seldom Scene.
