M&T Bank presented SCORE Mid-Shore with a charitable contribution for $2,000 on Friday April 19, 2019 at the bank’s Easton branch on Glebe Road in Talbot County.
Located in Easton, SCORE Mid- Shore provides free mentoring and business advice to entrepreneurs interested in starting a new business and/or growing a small business. SCORE mentors also provide business advice, help with business plans and sponsor business education including local workshops. Their services are provided at no cost and with complete confidentiality by experienced business executives who volunteer their time.
Chris Honeman, Assistant Vice President of M&T’s Easton, Maryland branch and John Franke, current chairman of SCORE Mid-Shore, have partnered in the past several years. Together, M&T and SCORE connect small businesses to lending; they have created a formula to grow the community organically. Preparing new business owners for financing and providing basic business education prior to sitting down with a bank has been the formula that is seeing success. Working together, Franke and Honeman have facilitated multiple start-up as well as current businesses with their progress.
