Vibrant colors, explosive energy, and passionate emotional drive characterize the works of these composers. Yet this tradition seemed to spring from nowhere barely 150 years ago, expanding meteorically in breadth and national confidence over an amazingly short period. While exploring the riches of Russian concert works, we also trace the turbulent historical movements that acted both as backdrop and engine for this fascinating musical evolution.

The Talbot County Free Library will have a screening of Pixar's Soul on Saturday, February 19th, at 2PM!   After landing the gig of a lifetime, a New York jazz pianist suddenly finds himself trapped in a strange land between Earth and the afterlife. The film is rated PG for thematic elements and some language and clocks in around 1 hr. 40 minutes. Space in the meeting room is limited to 25 attendees  and is first come, first served.

After making multiple albums and performing in far-flung places, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Amy Helm returned home to Woodstock’s Levon Helm Studios just before the pandemic to record “What the Flood Leaves Behind” and reclaim a sense of self. The album is her most autobiographical work yet, both in content and creation. This collection of new songs represent a gathering of ideas and experiences, friends and collaborators.
