The Frederick Douglass Honor Society will host Frederick Douglass Day on Saturday, September 24th!
The all day event kicks off at 10 a.m. with a parade starting on Glenwood Avenue and ending at the Talbot County Courthouse. Immediately following the parade, the Frederick Douglass Welcome Ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m on the front lawn of the Court House near the Frederick Douglass Statue. Brenda Wooden, the President of the Frederick Douglass Honor Society, will provide a welcoming message. There will also be a live reading of Frederick Douglass’ speeches, music, reading of a poem, and comments from local elected officials.
Be sure to visit the Talbot County Free Library for two book signings and a fascinating discussion with Dr. Robert Levine!
