Announcing New Easton Airport Manager – Micah Risher

On September 28th, Micah Risher, a lifetime Easton native and US Navy veteran, took the reins of Easton Airport, stepping into the very large shoes of the long-standing and much beloved former manager, Mike Henry.  Mr. Risher brings to his new role over 25 years of operational and administrative experience which directly applies to his role as the airport manager.

Mr. Risher spent 10 years as a Navy air traffic controller and seven years as manager of Easton Air Traffic Control Tower.  He worked four years in DC as a team leader for Human Solutions Inc., a company that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  His time at the FAA headquarters helped him understand the roles of various FAA lines of business and how the many directorates work together to get things accomplished.

Mr. Risher hopes to guide the airport through a period of well-planned safety and efficiency improvements.  In the process of purchasing property and easements that will allow them to remove obstacles in the near future, Risher and his team have already started the beginning phases of their Master Airport Improvement Plan and are moving forward with wetland mitigations to prepare for future construction.  They are also looking into options for new hangar development as early as 2019.

Mr. Risher, his wife, Danielle, and their three sons, Louis, Andrew and Joshua reside in Easton.  He was born at Easton Memorial Hospital and raised in Talbot County.
