Led by acclaimed pianist Rachel Franklin and featuring the consummate talents of violinist Christian Tremblay and fretless bass player Jonathan Miles Brown\, SONOS is a unique classical and jazz ensemble that blurs the edges between classic chamber works and jazz improvisation. \nComing to America celebrates the extraordinarily rich cultural and musical heritage of the United States\, fueled and fertilized by the contributions of those who came for a better life\, those who came to escape persecution\, and those who came against their will. The program will feature spirituals and immigration songs\, jazz\, and classical works from Beethoven to Bernstein.

SUMMARY:Miss Tess
DESCRIPTION:Defying genres while transcending eras and resisting clichés is what Miss Tess is all about. \nDrawing from jazz\, country\, blues and old-school rock and roll\, she has employed all of her influences and talents on a tour-de-force\, while cleverly taking standard perspectives and ideas\, like the definition of a love song\, to task. \n  \nHowever varied Tess’s music can be\, front and center sits her voice that has been described as “alternately seductive and sexy\, and a pure joy to listen to” (Pop Matters). Her music is further heightened by her partner\, Thomas Bryan Eaton\, who helps to shape the songs and arrangements with a deft touch on guitar & pedal steel.

SUMMARY:Amy Helm
DESCRIPTION:After making multiple albums and performing in far-flung places\, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Amy Helm returned home to Woodstock’s Levon Helm Studios just before the pandemic to record “What the Flood Leaves Behind” and reclaim a sense of self. \nThe album is her most autobiographical work yet\, both in content and creation. This collection of new songs represent a gathering of ideas and experiences\, friends and collaborators. Yet\, the album also marks a landing — a pause for the traveling musician and mother of two young boys who was seeking clarity in her calling and career. \nhttp://www.amyhelm.com/

SUMMARY:Russian Masterworks: Music Lectures with Rachel Franklin
DESCRIPTION:Tchaikovsky\, Mussorgsky\, Rimsky-Korsakov\, Rachmaninoff\, Prokofiev. Russia has provided us with some of the most exciting and original music in the repertoire today. Vibrant colors\, explosive energy\, and passionate emotional drive characterize the works of these composers. Yet this tradition seemed to spring from nowhere barely 150 years ago\, expanding meteorically in breadth and national confidence over an amazingly short period. While exploring the riches of Russian concert works\, we also trace the turbulent historical movements that acted both as backdrop and engine for this fascinating musical evolution.

SUMMARY:Adam Ezra Group
DESCRIPTION:Working outside the confines of the traditional music industry\, Ezra and his band\, the Adam Ezra Group\, built a fan community through sheer grit and determination\, regularly performing hundreds of shows a year for the past two decades without any major label or mainstream radio support. \nFusing folk intimacy and rock energy with soul power and pop charm\, the band first emerged from Boston in the early 2000s and quickly garnered widespread acclaim for their bold\, insightful songwriting and interactive\, euphoric performances. \nFrom hole-in-the-wall bars and house concerts to sold-out headline shows and dates with the likes of Little Big Town\, The Wallflowers\, Gavin DeGraw\, Train\, and The Wailers\, Ezra and his bandmates treated every single gig like their last\, attracting a die-hard following that believed not just in the music\, but in their commitment to activism and social change as well.
