DESCRIPTION:Alison Thoms: A Baltimore -Washington-Annapolis area musician\, Alison Thoms is a self-described “singer\, songwriter\, and strummer”. She is recognized by her\ndynamic\, wide-ranging vocals and relaxed\, gently percussive strumming style.\nShe brings a soulful and sometimes edgy style to her performance of original\nworks and her interpretations of rock\, pop\, country\, and blues songs written\nduring the last seven decades. Her rock-a-chill manner is said to capture the\nlikeness of Janis Joplin\, Bonnie Raitt and Mary Chapin Carpenter. \nA longtime performer\, Alison recently made her way to the recording studio\nwhere\, to date\, she has released 2 originals\, with a third due in August of\n2021. Her first single entitled “Just Getting Started” has been well received by\naudiences and is the A side of her first vinyl…the beloved seven-inch record\,\naffectionately referred to by her generation as a 45. An album is scheduled for\nrelease in Spring of 2022. \nAlison regularly performs across the Mid-Atlantic region from the Eastern\nseaboard to the WV panhandle. She plays a variety of venues that includes\nfestivals\, private functions\, & vineyards in addition to restaurant and bar\nsponsored live performances. She also travels with a regional Southern Rock\ninspired band providing both lead and backup vocals. \nAlison is playing in front of the Tidewater on Saturday\, June 19\, from 11 AM to 2 PM
