Discover Easton Announces 2019 Christmas in Easton Events

EASTON, Md. – Discover Easton invites you to enjoy the holiday season by bringing the entire family to town and celebrating the holidays during Christmas in Easton. Discover Easton is proud to announce the return of their Signature Holiday Events and is partnering with other organizations to bolster the Town’s holiday schedule this year.

The unofficial start to the holiday shopping season in Easton begins with Small Business Saturday on November 30. Discover Easton encourages everyone to shop small and support our independently-owned businesses. Drop by Thompson Park starting at 10 a.m. for Shop Small swag, promotional information, and all the things needed to enjoy the post-Thanksgiving shopping event.

Easton merchants reward early bird shoppers once again this year with raffle tickets for the 4th annual Moonlight Madness Shopping Event, held on Friday, December 6. Starting November 1, shoppers will earn raffle tickets by shopping with our participating Easton retailers. The more you spend, the more chances you’ll have to win gifts and prizes worth over $10,000.

During Moonlight Madness, stores and restaurants stay open late to celebrate the holiday shopping season. There will be music in the streets, pictures with Santa, in-store events, and giveaways all evening long. It all culminates in the 10 p.m. raffle drawing. You must be present to claim your prize if your winning ticket is drawn.

On Saturday, December 7, the annual Easton Holiday Parade will loop around the downtown district of Easton. The parade starts with the Town Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. in Thompson Park. The parade begins at approximately 6:30 p.m. and features over 60 unique floats, classic cars, bands, and Santa riding an Easton Volunteer Fire Department ladder truck.

“The holiday season is one of our favorite times of year here in Easton,” Discover Easton Executive Director Ross Benincasa said. “It’s a time when locals and visitors can come together to celebrate the season in our beautiful historic town.”

Other holiday favorites come to town during Christmas in Easton. Rudolph returns and will be taking phone calls November 29 – December 24 at the Talbot Town Shopping Center. Let Rudolph know what gifts you’d like so he can bring the message back to the North Pole in time for Christmas.

The Easton Volunteer Fire Department’s Holiday Train Garden will be on display November 29 – December 25 at the Easton Fire Station (315 Leonard Rieck Drive). The holiday train will fire up its engine to the delight of Easton-area families. This festive tradition brings holiday treats, entertainment, and characters including Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph, and Santa’s elves.

Friends of Hospice presents the Festival of Trees November 30 – December 3. The annual event is steeped in a rich history of helping Talbot Hospice help those celebrating the end of life. Enjoy a spectacular display of holiday trees at the Tidewater Inn’s Gold Room.

A new addition to The Festival of Trees, Carols by Candlelight, will take place outdoors on Saturday, November 30, 2019 in front of the Tidewater Inn from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Families will enjoy a free performance by choral groups, choirs, bell ringers, and a symphony.

The Christmas in Easton Art & Craft Marketplace will return to the Waterfowl Building December 6 – December 8 with a special visit by Santa on Saturday, December 7. Santa is also the guest of honor at The Tidewater Inn’s Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, December 8.
