2019 Free Enterprise Workshop Program

Over the past four months, nineteen area educators from Talbot County Public Schools, Caroline County Public Schools and Saints Peter & Paul School joined with Talbot Chamber President & CEO Al Silverstein in visiting Chesapeake College, The Inn at Perry Cabin, Agriculture Agencies, Star Democrat, Avon Dixon Agency, Easton Utilities, Easton Airport, and Phillips Wharf Environmental Center to learn about organizations and the impact they have upon our community employment base.

The workshop was first created in 1986 through a partnership between the Chamber and Talbot County Public Schools (TCPS), and is based on the nationally recognized ACES Program.  On Tuesday, May 14, the participants gave final presentations at a dinner hosted by Easton High School Culinary Arts Program.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide educators the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of local business operations and the impact of the free enterprise system. Educators will also develop a better understanding of the services local businesses and organizations offer, and the job opportunities that are available for students that want to stay in our communities. Participants in the 2019 FEW were Patrick Mclinchey (Talbot County Public Schools), Colin Stebbins (Talbot County Public Schools), Julie Ireland (Talbot County Public Schools), Mary Brummell (Talbot County Public Schools), Lindsey Weedon (Talbot County Public Schools), Susan Heil (Talbot County Public Schools), Glen Biddle (Caroline County Public Schools), Jonathan Grow  (Caroline County Public Schools), Jody Bee (Caroline County Public Schools), Kimberly Marion  (Caroline County Public Schools), Robert “Gene” Smith  (Caroline County Public Schools), Jessica Gernet (Caroline County Public Schools), Aileen Joseph (Caroline County Public Schools), Kari Clow (Caroline County Public Schools), Kathleen Kelly (Caroline County Public Schools), Shelia North (Saint Peter & Paul), Mark Rippa (Saint Peter & Paul), Dan Leve, (Saint Peter & Paul), Anthony Reed (J.
